Since our founding in 1977, our recognition has been wide ranging and diverse. Our benchmarking methodologies received the #1 rank in the world in a study conducted by Dr. Mohamed Zairi of The European Center for TQM at Bradford University's School of Management and Paul Leonard, featured in Practical Benchmarking. Our thought leadership has been endorsed by KM World, with APQC being named to the list of 100 Companies That Matter in Knowledge Management (2002 and 2011). Closer to our home base in Texas, APQC has been awarded Houston’s Better Business Bureau Torch Award. And on a wider scale, we are proud to have been recognized for Outstanding Performance by the MAKE Award Organization (Global winner 2008 and 2011; North America winner 2003, 2004, 2007-2011).
APQC’s numerous achievements include organizing the first White House Conference on Productivity, spearheading the creation and design of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (1987), developing the business taxonomy with the Process Classification FrameworkSM (PCF) (1992), production of the original and only Benchmarking Code of Conduct (1994), launching knowledge management as a key business practice (1995), introducing the Open Standards Benchmarking CollaborativeSM (OSBC) research (2004), and creating the C. Jackson Grayson Distinguished Quality Pioneer Medal (2008).
